Jan 09,  · From the opening bars of the title track, you can hear the plush fly from your speakers and land on the floor. Mescalero nails the sound that makes ZZ Top fans like ZZ Top; the furry, thick, and fuzzy riffs. Notes so covered in fur that you can't hear the intonation, that the transitions are vague shapes that need a shave/5().

Ever since ZZ Top signed with RCA, they fitfully tried to break free of the synthesized blues that once was their savior but quickly became a straitjacket. Like any addict, it was hard for them to quit that processed, sequenced sound cold turkey, so they weaned themselves off the robo-boogie, sometimes relapsing and adding too many synths to mix, other times breaking loose with some credible.

ZZ TOP - MESCALERO - CD Product details. cool, catchy songs here, and also some so-so songs. Some have cool riffs but stupid writing (ironically, the song "Me Stupid" or something). As usual, ZZ Top displays their amazing guitar tone and thick, crunchy, guitar riffsbut it's not as stellar as "Rhythmeen" (which in my opinion is their /5().

ZZ Top - Me So Stupid Lyrics. I could have been a brain surgeon I could have been a pharmacist I gave a shot at radio revivalist With the boss man I'd have never been mis.
  8. Nikobei says:
Since hearing ZZ Top "Fandango" I never thought any of their work would ever come close to that but I was wrong. Mescalero has it all. The first track's the hardest heaviest thing I've ever heard from ZZ Top and has the meanest bassline in the land! Some of the riffs like in "Buck Nekkid" are so /5().
  9. Goltilabar says:
Mar 20,  · Of course, the album is too long – pandering to the CD generation, rather than trimming away the excess baggage – but there are enough quality moments to make this a decent addition to any ZZ collection: Buck Nekkid has the old swagger and humour; Alley-Gator and Me So Stupid wouldn’t be out of place on Deguello; and Liquor certainly.
