   The sound of Coleman Hawkins () remains, after all these years, as immediately recognizable as his direct and compelling ability to swing. No jazzman played with more fire the uptempo tunes and no one could be more persuasive on ballads.

   Many track names and mp3 tag titles are messed up on discs 2 and 3 of the set "Coleman Hawkins Seven Classic Albums" (not Vol. 2, which is presumably OK). All the mis-labeled tracks are from the original LP album "The Genius of Coleman Hawkins"/5(27).
